Laser Hair Removal
Pre-Care
- Make sure the area is clean shaven (bring a razor for missed spots)
- Do not pluck, wax or tweeze the area during treatment
- No antibiotics, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- No recent sun exposure (for optimal results – little to no tan)
- No Accutane
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- No injections, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
- No direct sunlight, saunas, intense workouts for 48 hours
- No injections, 2 weeks post to any treatments
- Wear SPF30
Microdermabrasion
Post-Care
- No sunburn or recent sun exposure
- No Retin-A, 2 weeks prior to any treatment
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- Lax or thin skin, not a good candidate
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- No injections, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
- No Glycolic or Retinol acids, 48 hours
- No direct sun, tanning beds and swimming (chemicals), 1 week
- Wear SPF30
HydraFacial
Pre-Care
- No Glycolic or Retin-A, 2 weeks prior to any treatment
- No Accutane
- No skin lighteners or bleach, 4 weeks
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- Lax skin, thin skin, or Stage 3-5 Acne related skin, not a good candidate
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
- No Glycolic or Retinol acids, 48 hours
- No direct sun, tanning beds and swimming (chemicals), 1 week
- Wear SPF30
Chemical Peel
Pre-Care
- No sunburn or recent sun exposure
- No Glycolic or Retin-A, 2 weeks prior to any treatment
- No Accutane
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
- Keep skin moist, flaking of the skin will occur for 7-10 days. DO NOT pick or exfoliate!
- Some areas may turn dark
- Wear SPF30
Medical Clearance - Service Requirements
Services requiring a Medical Clearance by the Starwood Med Spa's Nurse Practitioner:
- Photo-Facial
- Lift-Pixel
- I-Pixel
- Botox/Fillers
- PRP
- CoolSculpting
- Ultherapy: With a $50 fee to our NP – they will write your order for treatment, in-which, your medical clearance is valid for one year. TMB RULE 193.17 – for additional information/questions you may have.
Photo-Facials
Pre-Care
- ABSOLUTELY NO TAN SKIN or recent sun exposure
- No antibiotics, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- No Retin-A, 1 week prior to any treatment
- No injections, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- No breastfeeding or pregnant
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
- No intense workouts for 48 hours and no direct sunlight or saunas for 1 week.
- Area may be red and feel like a sunburn, should subside within 24 hours.
- Pigmented damage will turn dark, flake off or lighten in 7-10 days for treatments on the face and up-to 14 days for treatments on the body.
- No injections, 2 weeks post to any treatments
- Wear SPF30
Lift-Pixel (non-ablative) and I-Pixel (ablative)
Pre-Care
- ABSOLUTELY NO TAN SKIN or recent sun exposure
- No antibiotics, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- No Retin-A, 1 week prior to any treatment
- No injections, 2 weeks prior to any treatments
- No breast-feeding or pregnant
- Start prophylactic before treatment if prone to Cold sores/herpes in the treated area
Post-Care
Both - Lift and I-Pixel
- No intense workouts for 48 hours and no direct sunlight or saunas for 1 week.
- Area may be red and feel like a sunburn, should subside within 24 hours.
- No injections, 2 weeks post to any treatments
- Wear SPF30
I-Pixel only
- Keep treated area moist (high protein diet promotes wound healing).
- Pixels will turn dark and flake off in 7-10 days for treatments on the face and up-to 14 days for treatments on the body.
